What we should do to improve reproductive performance of sows from nutrition perspective when breeds, environment and management are the same and in good condition?
1. Improving milk quality of sows
Providing sufficient raw materials for milk synthesis, promoting the full development of mammary glands, and sufficient suckling of the nipple can improve the milk quality of sows to provide higher litter weight at weaning.
2. Improve the health foundation of sows
During the post-gestation and lactation, the metabolism of sows accelerates, which produces a large amount of free radicals, resulting in a state of progressive oxidative stress of sows. Further causes the long farrowing duration, slow postpartum recovery, excessive weight loss during lactation, and abnormal estrus after weaning. Improvement of antioxidant capacity and reduction of oxidative stress will improve the health condition and reproductive performance of sows.

IgG in colostrum and IgM in normal milk are the main active ingredients for suckling pigs to obtain passive immunity, which can effectively enhance the resistance of suckling pigs to diseases, reduce the number of mortality, and increase the weaned size.
Significantly increase the level of functional amino acids in milk. Lysine is the first indispensable amino acids for the growth of suckling piglets; arginine is used as a semi-indispensable amino acid; glutamic acid and glutamine provide energy for the growth of intestinal epithelial cells, which can effectively protect the intestinal development of suckling piglets and accelerate the growth rate, and increase weaning weight.
